Music – Meditation means stilling of all senses or beyond the senses. However, sounds are quite disturbing and thus it would be good to start meditation with some music, so that atleast all other senses are still. You may listen to meditation music or drumming as it is quite effective.
Put soothing music throughout the day in your home.
Pre-cursor before start of meditation:
1. First part that was stilling the body by watching it in mirror, hearing the sounds, feeling our own body/skin and smelling is known as kaya sthriyam.
2. Focusing on breathing is pratyahara technique.
3. Stilling the mind by visualization of spine and prana is a technique of dharna.
4. Eventual part is acknowledging the reality as one and forgetting oneself in that one. It is the objective of any meditation technique and should always be in mind.
5. These few seconds when you are not, is actual meditation.
6. Rest is just the preparation.
Meditation as guided by OSHO:
There will be 4 stages of 10 minutes each:
1. First stage – In the first stage of breathing, let it be as intense and fast as you can make it, like the bellows of a blacksmith. Breathing and only breathing should remain. Inhale and exhale deeply.
2. Second stage
- Next ten minutes will be catharsis of emotions. Whatever is lying repressed inside – pain, tears, screaming, shouting, anger, and violence – all this has to be thrown out? And you are not only to think about it but to throw it out through the body. Let your body do whatever it wants to do in the moment, so that the weight of all this falls away from you.
3. Third Stage
– In the third stage use the Mantra HOOOO- Do it so loudly that it reverberates with a great echo. You have to throw the sound HOOOOO outside. The effect of the sound HOOOO is like a hammer on the kundalini. When the kundalini energy is hit inside, it begins to rise upwards. You will experience it for your self. As the kundalini is struck, you will feel as if powerful storms of energy inside you are beginning to rise upwards. And with their rising, you begin to enter into another world.
4. In the fourth stage, there will be silence for ten minutes, complete silence, in which meeting with the divine will take place.
